Privacy and cookies
GuitStart counts visits with Google Analytics, and only if you allow it. Here is what that means.
What we collect
If you click Allow, Google Analytics records which pages you open, how long you stay on them, roughly where you are (country and city, from your IP address), your device, browser and screen size, and the site that sent you here.
It also counts a few actions that tell us which features are useful: using a free tool (chord finder, metronome, A clamp across all six strings at one fret. It raises every open string, so familiar shapes play in a higher key.), playing a chord on the All twelve keys arranged in a circle, each a 5th above the last. Neighbouring keys differ by one sharp or flat., and copying the embed code. These events carry no personal details.
Google signals: age and interests
We have turned on Google signals. For visitors who are signed in to Google and have allowed ad personalisation in their Google account, Google adds estimated age group, gender and interests to our reports, as totals only. We never see who you are, and we do not show ads.
You can switch this off for every site in your Google account settings, under Data and privacy, then Personalised ads.
What we do not collect
GuitStart has no accounts, no forms and no ads. Every sound is synthesised in your browser; nothing you play leaves your device. We do not sell data or share it with anyone except Google, which processes it for us.
Changing your mind
Click Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to see the question again. Choosing No thanks after allowing removes the Google Analytics cookies GuitStart set and stops further counting.
